Excite: Perspectives on Nationalism
With the implementation of the new social studies curriculum in Alberta, it was desirable to create an online interactive resource for grade 11 and 12 to enhance learning through perspectives from around the world. This project is an authorized Alberta Social Studies curriculum resource posted on the Learn Alberta Site which is password protected. Through the use of four interactive scenarios using interview and context footage, the students would use and develop critical thinking skills. The scenarios use a variety of interactive techniques requiring the student to build video projects and defend their choices.
This project was a finalist for the Japan Prize and its sister 20-1 production, won the Golden Camera and Best of the Festival (Educational) from the 2010 U.S. International Film and Video Awards.
